Severed head found in river

THE DISCOVERY of a human head in the River Ancholme could help to bring a three-month murder investigation to its conclusion.

The gruesome find was made by a member of the public on Monday at about 3.30pm in the water close to the Glanford Boat Club in Brigg.

Other body parts have been found near Scawby Brook over the past few days.

A leg was found last Wednesday, June 15, and police divers discovered an arm on Sunday, June 19.

Acting Detective Chief Insp McFarlane said at the time: “We have made another find over the weekend as officers continued to search the stretch of river near Scawby Brook in Brigg following the discovery of a leg last week.
