Police warning after spate of crimes


Police are warning residents to be vigilant after a spate of crimes in the area.

A would-be burglar trying to break into a shed with a crowbar ran from the scene after being disturbed by a brave homeowner in the early hours of the morning on Saturday, June 6.

Police say the homeowner was awoken shortly before 2am. The incident (number 42 of June 6) happened in Stocks Hill, Ludford.

A Kawasaki motorcycle, registration KX5 20F, was stolen after thieves broke into a garage on Ashby Close, Holton le Clay between 7pm on June 1 and 7am on June 2. (Incident 38 of June 2)

Thieves stole three allez racing bikes after breaking into a garage at a property in Beirgate, Grainthorpe between 8pm on June 1 and 12pm on June 2.

They also attempted to steal a vehicle parked inside the garage causing damage to the ignition. They were unsuccessful and left with the bikes. (Incident 186 of June 2)

Also overnight on June 1, offenders attempted to steal a tractor which was parked at a property on Main Road, Grainthorpe. The Offenders caused damage to the ignition and also smashed the front and rear screens of the tractor. (Incident 394 of June 2)

In South Willingham, 14 gas bottles have been stolen from a farm. This happened between June 4 and June 6. (Incident 169 of June 6)

Police are urging residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour to Lincolnshire Police immediately.
