TWO men have appeared at Lincoln Magistrates’ Court charged with conspiring to commit an arson attack on a speed camera on the A631 at Hemswell Cliff.

Anthony Luty, 28, of Hollowgate, Barnburgh, and Ashley Rowland, 23, of Adwick Road, Mexborough have been accused of conspiracy to commit arson.

Mr Rowland has also been charged with carrying out an arson attack on the Lincolnshire Police speed camera on October 18, 2011.

Mr Luty is accused of perverting the course of justice after allegedly entering into an agreement with Mr Rowland to destroy a Hemswell Cliff camera, which had photographed him speeding on October 17, 2011.

Both men have been given bail and the case has been sent to Lincoln Crown Court. They will next appear on July.
