A chocolate shop owner has been sentenced for sexually assaulting a boy, a Scottish court has heard.

Alan Dixon, 77, of Willingham Hall Industrial Estate, has been fined £9,500 and ordered to pay £3,000 compensation after he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a boy in Scotland on one occasion between December 2010 and July 2013.

Dixon, a partner in Market Rasen’s Special Edition Chocolate, was sentenced at Dunoon Sheriff Court on Monday, August 31.

The court heard how Dixon’s fine was a direct alternative to custody.

He has been placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
