Police are warning the public to be vigilant after a domestic heating oil theft near Market Rasen.

Police say this is a continuing problem across the county as the price of crude oil remains high.

The latest incident happened at a property in South Owersby.

A dedicated operation to tackle this issue is ongoing, including targeted patrols in hotspot areas and covert police work.

A number of arrests have been made recently, but individuals and gangs are still targeting domestic and commercial heating oil tanks.

Anyone who sees any suspicious vehicles in their area should call the police immediately with registration numbers and descriptions of occupants.

Call Lincolnshire Police with information on 101.

Alternatively, call independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
