A driver has had a lucky escape after her car appears to have been shot at with a pellet gun.
The 65-year-old woman had been travelling south on the A15, Redbourne Road at Kirton Lindsey when the incident happened.
She stopped at the junction close to Huntcliff School when somebody appeared to fire something at her car, which struck the passenger side door and caused damage.
Police say the damage is consistent with that of a pellet from a pellet gun.
The woman, who is from Kirton Lindsey, heard a loud noise when the car was struck, but nobody was seen in the area.
The incident happened at about 6.30pm on Tuesday, July 9.
Police are now urging people to be vigilant and are reminding people that actions such as this can be very dangerous.
They said the driver of the vehicle was “incredibly lucky” not to have been injured herself.
Anyone who may have witnessed what happened, or who saw somebody in the area at the time of the incident is asked to call Humberside Police.
