Crime: cable theft at South Willingham

Overnight on Wednesday November 26 / early hours of Thursday November 27, a stretch of approximately 700 metres of overhead cabling was stolen from near Barkwith Road in South Willingham.

“This is one of a number of these types of thefts in the Lincolnshire area and we would like to urge people to call us immediately if they see any suspicious activity near to overhead cables,” said PCSO Sally Read.

“These criminal acts are endangering lives, can cause power cuts and even damage your electrical appliances.

“With your help and vigilance and by reporting suspicious behaviour near electricity substations or overhead power lines, we can pull the plug on this latest scourge of criminal activity.

If you did witness anything suspicious near this theft, call Lincolnshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 55 27/11/2014.
