A PUB is being taken to court by the council after it failed to carry out repairs and improvements.
West Lindsey council is taking legal action against the owners of derelict Market Rasen pub The Goldmine after they failed to act on an enforcement notice to bring it back to an acceptable standard.
West Lindsey council’s senior enforcement officer Catherine Bentley said: “There was a notice served in June this year requiring the owners of The Goldmine Bar to carry out repairs and improvements to bring it back to an acceptable standard.
“There has been no appeal against the notice and the time for compliance has expired.
“We are in the process of taking formal action in relation to the breach.”
The situation at the pub, formerly known as the King’s Head, came to light as part of a town council walkabout to check for untidy areas.
