A man is in hospital with head and leg injuries after being hit with a weapon several times during a gang attack that cordoned off two Market Rasen streets at the weekend.

The 42-year-old Market Rasen man is being treated at Lincoln County Hospital after the incident, which happened in the Chapel Street/Union Street area between 7.30am and 7.40am on Saturday, January 11.

Five males, aged 27, 22, 38, 16, and 25, and one female, aged 19, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH.

All six people are from Market Rasen and have been bailed until the end of the month, pending further police enquiries.
