15p to call the cops too high for some

CAISTOR councillor Alan Caine is encouraging people to e-mail the chairman of Lincolnshire Police Authority if they find the 15p cost to call the new non-emergency police number unacceptable.

Lincolnshire Police introduced the new national non-emergency number, 101, earlier this month and say it is cheaper than the previous 0300 number.

Coun Caine says anyone who finds the charge unacceptable should e-mail the police authority chairman Barry Young at barry.young@lincs.pnn.police.uk.
