ALL IS set for the Brigg Christmas lights switch-on and Christmas Market this Friday, December 2.
Town Mayor and Mayoress, Coun John Kitwood and Mrs Kath Kitwood will front the switch-on at the popular event that heralds the start of the festive season and also includes the Christmas Market being organised by Brigg Lions.
The cast of the Scunthorpe Plowright Theatre’s pantomime Cinderella will set the atmosphere and provide traditional Christmas entertainment, ahead of the switch-on at 5pm. This will then herald the official opening of the annual Christmas Market in the town centre, together with groups performing live festive music.
Santa and his helpers plan to arrive just after the Christmas lights are turned on!
The Lions plan for stalls in the Market Place/Wrawby Street area, the Angel Suite and the Angel Courtyard selling a great variety of goods – handmade gifts, jewellery, clothing, children’s toys, and Christmas accessories.
Representatives of various charities and organisations will also be raise funds for their respective good causes.
