A Market Rasen Town councillor has called for parking restrictions to be imposed in parts of the town following the death of Vera Tranter on Tuesday, September
1.

At a town council meeting held the day after the incident in Mill Road, which resulted in Mrs Tranter’s death, Coun John McNeill said: “I’ve had two people come up to me and say that parking is terrible, and that these sorts of accidents were certainly bound to happen eventually.”

Coun McNeill added: “I think I’ve raised this before about parking generally in town, and I think we need to look at some areas - particularly that area following recent
events.

“Even if it was just a restriction to make it a drop-off point only, if you’re just stopping there for five minutes to let somebody out and then go and find a parking
space.”
