West Lindsey District Council’s vice chairman has taken on the responsibilities of the chairman who is ‘unwell’, it has been confirmed.
WLDC strategic lead for democracy and business support Alan Robinson has confirmed that chairman Angela Lawrence has been ‘unwell’ for a few weeks.
Coun Lawrence, who represents the Caistor ward, has passed her responsibilities to vice chairman Coun Roger Patterson.
Mr Robinson said: “The chairman of council, Coun Angela Lawrence, is currently unwell, and the vice chairman of council, Coun Roger Patterson has kindly assumed her responsibilities over the past few weeks.”
Coun Lawrence, a former mayor of Caistor, took on the role of chairman earlier this year.
The Conservative councillor told the Rasen Mail she was “honoured” and “excited” about the new role.
And she said she could not have taken on the role if she had not been due to retire from her job as owner of Caistor’s Whitegate House Kindergarten.
