PEOPLE who live or work close to Caistor Fire Station are being called to volunteer as paid, on-call firefighters.
The station, on Hersey Lane, needs more men and women to join its ranks and, to find them, a recruitment day is being held at the station this Saturday, March 24, from 10am-2pm.
The service’s unique recruitment pod will be available, to give would-be firefighters a go at the actual physical tests required, and officers will be on hand to give advice and answer any questions.
Volunteers, who can be men or women, need to be aged 18 or over, live or work within five minutes of the fire station, and be in sufficiently good health to meet the physical demands of the job.
Alongside the recruitment event, the fire station will also be running a charity car and van wash from 10.30am.
Proceeds from the car wash will go to the Firefighters Charity.
