Could talented William from Grasby be our very own Spielberg?

A young film reviewer from Grasby has become an internet sensation with 4.5 million YouTube views - and now he has released his own book.

William Carlisle is only 21 and already he has a global internet fanbase for his frank and honest reviews recorded in his bedroom with a basic video camera and microphone.

Not content with this, the smart student has self-published a 148-page book containing reviews of more than 70 films released between January 1 and December 31 last year.

William - who has just finished a theatre and performance degree and is due to start a masters in fiction film production - said: “The book is basically my thoughts on last year in film.

“I often go to look at review books and the reviews are only about four or five sentences long. You don’t feel like you’ve really gained anything. Criticism is a very important way to determine quality.

“All the reviews in the book are in-depth and insightful. The reader gets a comprehensive and solid analysis.”

Copies of the book have already been sold in Australia and France and William’s online fanbase has show a lot of interest.

If William’s sales continue, he is hoping to buy some filming equipment.

“I’m hoping to do filmmaking myself one day,” he said.

William has big aspirations but has been shocked at his success so far.

He said: “I never expected to get 450 views let alone 4.5 million.”

William’s film reviews - which he records while wearing a trilby hat - can be viewed on YouTube by searching ‘Trilbee Reviews’.

He has also done many Doctor Who reviews on YouTube.

You can view these, and more film reviews, by searching ‘mr tardis reviews’.

His most popular review, a critical analysis of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, has attracted more than 1.7 million views from around the world.
