An intricate townscape has put Market Rasen into the BIG picture of life - a lasting legacy from the Plank Festival held earlier this year.
The enormous fabric collage has been created by people of all ages from the town and surrounding area, all keen to take part in this enterprising project.
During February’s successful Plank Festival, the call went out for people to get involved in the BIG Picture project by picking up pre-cut fabric pieces from town shops to decorate and embellish.
And organisers were not disappointed with the response.
“It is just amazing how people in the town have got behind the project,” said Linda Patrick, who had the job of co-ordinating the work.
“It has exceeded all expectations - it just got bigger and better.
“It really has been fantastic putting it all together.”
And there have been a few surprises along the way too.
“One lady rang and asked if I wanted some carrots,” added Linda.
“I assumed she meant to eat, but a few days later there they were dropped through my door - handcrafted carrots.
“I have no idea who she is, but thank you to her and thank you to everyone who has done their bit to create this lovely collage.”
Now it is down to a small team of willing volunteers, who have been meeting weekly in Middle Rasen Church Hall to finish off the collage.
The finished picture will go on public display in Market Rasen Surgery sometime in September.
