This Sunday’s Blues Session at the Hope Tavern in Holton le Moor presents an afternoon of classic blues from Manchester based duo Mat Walklate and Sicilian blues guitarist and singer Paolo Fuschi.
United by a love of all styles of blues from the 1950s onwards, they play a diverse, dynamic set illustrating all shades of blues and allowing their individual instrumental, vocal and improvisational qualities to shine.
Each performance is rock-solid, yet full of inspiration and spontaneity.
The pair met in Manchester in 2014, since when they have played most of the major festivals across the UK and Europe, including opening the Blues Festival in Palermo, Sicily.
A formidable partnership, they capture classic 50s and 60s blues with power and authenticity along with R&B and a little ska.
British Blues Harp Champion Mat Walklate on harmonica and vocals and Paolo Fuschi on guitar deliver hot, driving harp, immaculate, searing guitar and soulful vocals recreating the best of the golden age of urban blues.
The show starts at 4pm on July 10, with the door charge £8.
