Slimmers have joined together to spring-clean their wardrobes and donate their clothes to Cancer Research UK in support of the national fundraising campaign ‘The Big Slimming World Clothes Throw’.

Members of the Market Rasen Slimming World group collected all their unwanted clothes, shoes and accessories to donate to their local Cancer Research UK shop to support the campaign. Each single bag collected could raise around £25 for the charity.

Shona, who runs the Market Rasen groups, which meet every Tuesday and Wednesday at The Festival Hall says her members were more than willing to donate their unwanted clothes to help such a worthwhile cause, and jumped at the chance to recycle the clothes they’ve slimmed out of to help raise money.

She said “Members of my Market Rasen Slimming World groups have really embraced this fabulous fundraising campaign and they have been more than happy to donate their ‘big’clothes because they know that they’re never going to need them again.”

Alison Gough, a member who has lost almost 6st said: “I found it really liberating to get rid of all my old clothes and I’m not worried about ever needing them again because this is the new me now, I feel great.”

Anyone who’d like to lose weight and join Slimming World’s Big Clothes Throw is welcome at the Market Rasen group, which meets every Tuesday. at 5.30pm & 7.30pm and every Wednesday ay 9.30am at The Festival Hall.
