Between them, four staff members from the Co-op’s Market Rasen Food Store have clocked 100 years of loyal service with the company, since starting their careers in 1989.
Maree Frankish, Judith Parker, Margaret Briggs and Deborah Green were among the 27 employees from across the business who have been recognised for reaching the 25-year landmark.
Their quarter-century with Lincolnshire Co-op was celebrated at a Long Service dinner, where they were each presented with a commemorative gold watch from the Society as a thank you for their effort and dedication.
And over the years, there have been many changes and memorable events.
“Before there were dividend cards, we had stamps,” said Judith Parker, who works as a customer sales assistant.
“They were issued in reams and we used to be swamped each Christmas by the number of full books people used to pay for their shopping.”
A highlight for fellow assistant Margaret Briggs has been raising money for Lincolnshire Co-op’s Charity of the Year.
“Our food store alone raised £11,000 for Help for Heroes in 2011,” she said. “Our butchery manager completed two triathlons and staff put in countless hours on a treadmill,”
Head of People and Performance Heather Lee said: “We’re really very proud of the staff who have been with us for 25 years; the long service dinner and awards are just one way of recognising their hard work.”
