A LUDFORD woman has been honoured for the difference she has made to the community she lives in.
Caroline Feit scooped the Citizen of the Year Award, organised by Lincolnshire County Council, for being a pillar of her community, throwing herself into village life as well as fostering three children.
Caroline was nominated for the award by parish council chairman Patricia Ridger, who described her as “energetic and always helping someone.”
As well as being an integral part of the village hall committee, Caroline is also a member of the WI and the chairman of the Ludford Twinning Association.
Her love of gardening inspired the formation of a gardening group in the village and, further afield, she is an active member of the Humberside International Women’s Club.
Also receiving awards were Jess Forbes from Boston, Young Citizen of the Year, and a team of volunteers from Donington in Bloom, Community Group of the Year
“These award winners show what can be achieved when communities pull together and I want to thank each of them for the part they’ve played,” said Lincolnshire County Council chairman Coun Neil Cooper.
