Caistor is in shock following the unexpected death of popular town councillor Linda Lamb.
The 66-year-old had been unwell but town and district councillor Alan Caine said her death last night was a “surprise” which would come as a “huge shock” to the town.
Coun Lamb, of Lincoln Drive, worked in local government and housing before retirement.
“Linda was a lovely lady. It was a pleasure to have her on the council. She brought a great deal of knowledge and expertise to the council.
“As a friend she will be much missed. She hadn’t been well for a while. This is a total surprise and a shock. She’s going to leave a huge gap,” he said.
Fellow Town councillor Jacqui Hughes said Coun Lamb was a “very important” member of Caistor Town Council.
“We will miss her terribly. We appreciated her business knowledge.”
Coun John Burns-Salmond described Coun Lamb as “a personal friend.”
