FOLLOWING generous contributions from the people of Market Rasen to the Rotary Shelterbox appeal, Caistor shoppers nearly matched their overall generosity by donating £377 to the fund.

Rotarians, in the guise of Father Christmas, stood in the entrance to the Caistor Co-op and were bowled over by the generous donations.

The two collections will be sent by the Rotarians of Market Rasen, to the headquarters of the Shelter Box organisation at the Rotary Club of Helston in Cornwall where it will be turned into 1.3 Shelterboxes.

The boxes provide bedding, cooking facilities, tools, water purification straws, and or tablets, together with purposely designed tents to those who have been made homeless by natural disasters, somewhere in the world.

Thank you, to the friendly management and staff of the Coop, and also to all those who donated.

Binbrook’ Primary School has also donated £100 to the Rotary Club for the Lifestraws project, providing access to clean water for disaster struck areas.
