STAFF at Market Rasen’s Lincolnshire Co-operative store will be encouraging people to ‘take a step’ and try a Fairtrade product this Saturday, March 3, from 1.30pm-4pm.

The national theme of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight – February 27-March 11 – is to ‘take a step’ and individuals, businesses, community groups, charities and schools are being asked to log their steps on the Fairtrade Foundation’s website.

The aim is to get 15 million steps.

Taking a step for Fairtrade is easy – it could be swapping your normal brew to an ethically-sourced tea, using Fairtrade sugar to bake a cake or switching to Fairtrade products in your organisation’s staff room.

There will be prizes up for grabs at the Market Rasen store when shoppers take a spin on the Fairtrade Wheel of Fortune, a kids trail and the chance for customers to take their own step for Fairtrade and win a food hamper

Free samples of Fairtrade cake and recipe cards will also be on offer.

l Samples of Fairtrade products will be on offer at other Lincolnshire Co-operative stores in the area this Saturday.

l Don’t miss next week’s Market Rasen Mail for your chance to win a Fairtrade Co-op food hamper worth £50.
