VISITOR figures for UK holiday destinations have identified Skegness as the fourth most popular resort.
The figures for 2010 issued by Visit England come just weeks after another survey which gave a positive indication of the number of tourists visiting Skegness.
East Lindsey District Council’s portfolio holder for the economy, Coun Craig Leyland is delighted at the news.
He said: “Skegness is immensely popular, you only need to visit the resort to see that and to be place fourth most popular holiday destination in the UK is fantastic. With SECHWA and other local and national organisations we continue to work hard to raise the profile of Skegness to ensure it continues to attract its current visitors and also new visitors, people who may have previously chosen to holiday elsewhere.
“Skegness is not only a place for the traditional bucket and spade holiday, we now host major cultural events including SO Festival, national beach sport competitions and AMCA motorcycle racing in November.”
