A planned caravan site aimed at the riding set, with stables for horses, is a runner once again.
Plans, first submitted in February, were later withdrawn following some opposition.
Applicants Ian and Lyndsey Horstwood have resubmitted their proposal for 24 caravan pitches, a shop and toilet block on paddock land at Race View, Legsby Road. Grazing and livery for horses for site users would also be available.
Mr Horstwood says concerns from conservationists over the site have been addressed, with some of it being set aside for nature, with nesting and bird boxes to encourage wildlife.
“We want to give back to nature as much as we take out,” he said.
Dismissing some opposition concern as ‘not valid’, Ian told the Rasen Mail that much of Market Rasen was ‘enthusiastic’ about the proposal, saying it was also supported by local councillors.
Ian now expects West Lindsey District Council to decide next month, hopefully allowing for an opening later this year.
