A DERELICT pub faces legal action if it is not tidied up.
Market Rasen pub The Goldmine, formerly the King’s Head, was given an enforcement notice to bring the area back to an acceptable standard and it had until Monday for the work to be done.
A West Lindsey Council spokesman said: “The pub has been issued with an enforcement notice to bring the area back to an acceptable standard and generally tidy it up.
“The situation came to light as part of a town council walkabout to check if anywhere was messy.”
The spokesman said a site visit will be carried out to check if the work has been done but a date for this has not yet been set.
Town mayor Ken Bridger said: “The pub’s in a bad state of repairs and there’s problems around the back with the dumping of waste.”
