Market Rasen Business Improvement Group (MR BIG) has finally called it a day.
Its directors stepped down as expected at an Extraordinary General Meeting last night, Wednesday February 25.
Now, the challenge of helping regenerate Market Rasen’s high street and markets passes on to the Town Council and the Town Partnership, which is still being developed.
Sara Scott, the chair of MR BIG, said today that members of the Market Rasen Business Improvement Group heard an overview of what it has achieved, plus there was an update on its finances.
After its directors, including Ms Scott, said they would stand down in April, members were asked if any wanted to take-over.
None of them did, so the Community Interest Company will be wound up, with its remaining assets to be transferred over to whatever organisation takes over its role.
Ms Scott said she feels “pretty positive” about the future, with the traders and the Town Council busily working on the Town Partnership and Market Forum.
