Lincs farming of national merit

A LINCOLNSHIRE food and farming organisation is among the select few joining a new industry network – giving the county a voice at a national level.

The Lincolnshire Forum for Agriculture and Horticulture has been invited to join Defra’s new Rural and Farming Network.

Among other benefits, membership will guarantee the forum easier access to Government ministers, meaning important issues can be taken directly to the highest level.

Mark Tinsley, chairman of the forum, said: “Agriculture is the foundation of the county economy, and membership of this network will help us take our food and farming sectors from strength to strength.

“We’ll have the opportunity to feedback any concerns directly to Defra, and will be meeting with ministers at least once a year to discuss significant issues facing our industry. Only a handful of organisations have been chosen for this, making it a great advantage for the county.”

The forum is one of only 14 groups across the country to be invited to join the network. For further details on the Lincolnshire Forum for Agriculture and Horticulture, please visit .
