Last chance to register to save money on your energy bills

Residents who want the chance to save money on their energy bills have less than a week left to sign up for the Lincolnshire Energy Switch scheme.

So far more than 2,000 gas and electricity customers in Lincolnshire have signed up to potentially save money on their home energy bills through the new collective Lincolnshire Energy Switch scheme (LESS).

Customers across the county have until Monday February 17 to register.

West Lindsey District Council has worked with the other authorities in the county to launch the campaign that invites residents to join forces and potentially save hundreds of pounds on their bills.

Energy suppliers can offer lower energy prices to a collective contract made up of thousands of customers.

Karen Lond, Energy and Climate Change Officer at West Lindsey District Council, said: “The more people that sign up, the lower the energy prices that could be offered.

“We need as many people as possible to register for the scheme by the deadline of February 17 to really make a difference to energy bills.”

People can register online at or by calling 01522 782067 (lines are open 10am to 6pm, Monday to Friday). On Monday February 17 the line will close at 4pm.

Alternatively residents can register at their local council in Boston, East Lindsey, Lincoln, North Kesteven, South Kesteven and West Lindsey.

Once the registration deadline has passed, the tariff of the lowest bidding energy supplier will be offered to residents. Residents can then choose to accept the offer or not.
