Emma, of Kirkby Cum Osgodby, heads the events team of Red Herring Games - a major supplier of murder mystery dinner party games, either for those wanting to organise their own murders or employ Emma and her team to do the dirty work at the office or other dining functions.
The Grimsby-based business employs three and is one of a few providers of dinner party games in the UK. It offers 65 dinner party themes and 30 event themes, with the games shipped all over Europe. Games can be printed on demand and Red Herring can offer murder mystery events to venues looking to entertain more than 20 guests.
“We also have a live action Cluedo style event where guests interview suspects and review clues distributed throughout a venue or we can entertain guests where six of them are actually the suspects for the night.” Emma said.
”We also offer traditional live action theatre murder mystery games should a venue fancy somewhere traditional.”
There is also the party side of the business, where Red Herring can host everything from Hen Parties right up to venues entertaining more than 200, with events customised to each booking.
Christmas is a popular time for murder, said Emma, when Red Herring’s business trebles.
“Everyone wants to be indoors having fun,” she said.
Already Emma is taking bookings for Christmas 2015 and her diary for next year is starting to fill.
And on January 9, Red Herring is staging a “Strictly Come Murder” evening at Forest Pines Hotel, Brigg.
Over the Christmas holidays, meanwhile, Estuary TV will broadcast a Red Herring murder mystery show “Cargo Connections” with prizes if you guess the murderer.
