A legal secretary has started a new business in Market Rasen, Fagin’s Collectibles, which promises something different.
Fagin’s Collectibles opened last week, the brainchild of Amanda Jackson and Partner Richard Abbott.
The couple from North Owersby opened the shop after enjoying several months trading at Hemswell Market. They moved here from Peterborough four years ago, since they have family in the Rasen area.
Amanda, who is the business owner, says Fagin’s Collectibles is not so much an antiques shop, but rather collectibles as antiques are old items, whereas collectibles can cover items from the 1980s and 1990s.
“It’s a bit of everything for everyone,” she said.
Fagin’s Collectibles staged an special Opening Day earlier this month, which Amanda says was successful with ‘good sales.’
“The feedback from the local people has been really positive. People like a bit of diversity in town. Hopefully, it will bring more trade to local antique fairs and people will come to Market Rasen. We have a wide variety of stock reasonably priced. We don’t concentrate on selling antiques. Our stock isn’t priced as antiques.”
