Chelsea North says she can’t stay away from the Bottle & Glass in Normanby-by-Spital.
It’s where the girl from Glentham waitressed and did bar work - at least five times on and off - and its also where she met her husband Jamie Barnes of Osgodby.
Now, after over a year of working together, the couple have taken over the pub, following the departure of former manager Gordon Reeves.
Jamie has been a chef since leaving Caistor Yarborough and has worked at hotels in Immingham and Leicester, plus the Old Barn at Tealby.
Chelsea went to De Aston School in Market Rasen and has also worked several years at BHS in Lincoln.
“We are both from around here. We know the locals. We have a good local trade and we are building our reputation back up,” said Jamie.
Jamie has cut prices to focus on “good, cheap, home-cooked food” like take-away fish & chips at £5.25. Soon he will joined in the kitchen by Henry Gavins from Rasen’s Advocate Arms.
“I always thought it needed a local to run it. The pub has a nice atmosphere, very friendly and everyone knows everyone. It’s hard work but it doesn’t feel like it half the time,” continued Chelsea.
As well as good food and friendly service, the couple will offer other pub essentials, quiz nights, race nights, psychic nights and monthly themed dinners, starting off with Valentine’s for this Saturday.
