A Market Rasen business has celebrated 30 years of trade in the town.

N & EP Greenwood is an independent opticians run by husband and wife team Liz and Nigel Greenwood.

Celebrations began with Market Rasen Mayor John Matthews cutting the cake.

“Who says businesses can’t survive in Market Rasen?” he said.

“Thirty years providing a quality service to our community, it’s wonderful.”

Tea, coffee and cake was on offer to all the clients through the afternoon and proved very popular.

A display board covering the history of the practice also gave everyone a chance to recall past times in the town as well as changes in eye care.

Causing a lot of comment was the 1985 photo of the reception, due to the type writer and old style dial phone.

The party spirit continued at 6pm with wine and nibbles and a chance to view the full collection of Elle and Esprit frames.

A prize draw ran all week to win an exclusive pair of Elle sunglasses.

“The practice has seen three generations of many local families over the years and keeps very family orientated by having a mum and daughter as part of the team - Sarah Woodcock our frame stylist and her mum Cath Hand on reception,” said Liz Greenwood. “Kay Thompson is the third member of our team on reception.

“We would like to thank all our loyal patients over the years and we hope to continue to serve the Market Rasen community over the coming years.”
