Caistor’s newly-elected town council is to “discuss and resolve” whether to buy and renovate the former Co-op building in the market place.
Tomorrow’s meeting at 7pm in the Town Hall is the first since last week’s elections and has a busy agenda of more than 30 items.
The Town Council has considered buying the Co-op before, but deferred a decision until a new council was elected. It seeks to takeover the building “through a partnership with Linconshire Heritage Trust and Caistor Heritage Trust and to use the remainder of the High Street Innovation Fund towards a feasibility study for this purpose.”
Other agenda items include the election of a chairman, vice-chairman, and committee chairs, appointing councillors responsible for various town facilities, a review of land and assets, adopting a policy to deal with the press and media, and ratify the appointment of a project manager for Positive Activities.
