A special film night at the Broadbent Theatre this weekend will help raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.
The event, on Saturday November 23, has been organised in memory of Michelle Boryszczuk, who lost her five-year battle with Alzheimer’s earlier this year at the age of just 44.
And the film chosen by her husband Steve for the occasion is ‘The Notebook’.
“It is a special film for Michelle and I,” said Steve.
“There are many similarities between our life together and the film - as it starts in a fairground, which is where I used to work.
“There has been a lot of interest shown, so it should be a good night.”
And the film night will be even more poignant, as it takes place on what would have been Michelle’s 45th birthday.
Michelle was a keen supporter of the Wickenby theatre, including working as director on a number of occasions.
“She loved the theatre and even when she became ill enjoyed going and sitting in there,” added Steve.
The fundraising weekend begins with a race night at the White Hart in Lissington this Friday, November 22, from 7.30pm.
