A former engineer left with a brain injury after being attacked has started his own innovative business - helping the community with anything and everything.
Richy Scuffham, a former electrical and CCTV engineer, has set up ‘Ask Me First’ - a free service offering advice on everything from filling in forms to DIY and disputes between neighbours.
Richy explains: “If someone has a broken light bulb, for example, and they don’t know what to change, they can call me and I will advise what to
“If you have a problem, no matter what it is, you can ask me first.”
Richy can then either do the work himself (for a small charge) or give advice about who to contact.
The attack in 2010 left Richy with problems concentrating for long periods and he was eventually forced to give up his engineering job.
Since then he has helped wife Gill run Queen Street florist Forget Me Not, which will soon become a mobile and online only operation.
He said: “I was wondering what I could do to help the community and came up with this.
“I’ve already had a lot of interest from people.”
Richy will cover Market Rasen and a 10-mile radius.
