MARKET Rasen will have more than two buses running per day.
In a reversal to what the Market Rasen Mail had been told previously by Stagecoach, the firm’s managing director, Gary Nolan has said there will be six buses a day under theproposed new timetable.
This is still a significant reduction in the service, which currently operates once an hour.
Mr Nolan said: “Buses to Lincoln from Market Rasen will operate at 0735 0835 (schooldays only) and 0935. There will be three journeys in the afternoon back from Lincoln.
“The new timetable does show less journeys than now, but there are buses for colleges at both Lincoln and Grimsby for shoppers and for early hospital appointments.
“The 0935 bus provides for shopping trips in Lincoln with buses back at 1340 1540 and 1740.
“I appreciate that in the middle of the day there are no buses to Market Rasen and this is due to the high mileage and low patronage on these journeys.
“Your readers comments have been noted and I am discussing the new times with the County Council and I hope to report more soon. I hope this helps and I am happy to answer any further queries.”
