Brigg-based Pipers Crisps has helped to raise more than £160,000 for a national foodbank charity.

The Pipers’ baron formed part of the Lincoln Barons’ Charter Trail, celebrating 800 years of Magna Carta.

It was one of 25 sold at auction, raising a staggering £167,000 for national foodbank charity The Trussell Trust.

Pipers Crisps’ founder Alex Albone is
delighted.

He said: “The whole project has been a resounding success, demonstrating our passion for our community and local heritage.

“The local community has benefited because the Barons’ Trail has been a fantastic attraction for residents and visitors alike.”

The sculptures were commissioned by local businesses, each Baron depicting a local theme.

When they went under the hammer the Pipers’ ‘Bomber Baron’ was sold for £11,000.
