June was a momentous month for members of Binbrook and district WI.

Firstly, Barbara Pollard was the representative at the Buckingham Palace garden party, hosted by the Duchess of Cornwall, for the WI centenary.

Two days later, Hilary Harris was at the Albert Hall for the national annual meeting, with a visit from the Queen, the Princess Royal and Sophie, Countess of Wessex.

Back in Binbrook, Dr Nicholas Bennett gave a very interesting historical lecture about Matthew Flinders Snr and his extended Lincolnshire family.

There is a busy time ahead, with the annual lawn bowls challenge at Binbrook bowls club, an exclusive visit to St Andrew’s Children’s Hospice to see how the money raised is used, a behind-the-scenes look at Humberside Airport, a beginners’ taster session at clay pigeon shooting and a VIP visit to Market Rasen races.
