Beryl Lancaster

The funeral service for 86-year-old Beryl Lancaster was held at Grimsby Crematorium.

The Rev Michael Cartwright officiated at the service and arrangements were by J Marshall of Market Rasen.

Born in Stocksbridge, Yorkshire, the eldest child of seven, Beryl moved to Market Rasen at the age of four.

She joined the land army during the war and in 1945 married her husband, Bill.

After having her children, Beryl returned to work on the land, being able to take the children with her, until they went to school.

Beryl then worked for the Home Office at Willingham Hall for many years, until it closed down.

Her last years of work were spent as an ambulance driver for social services.

After her retirement she spent many happy years playing bowls with her late companion, Jim.

Beryl was a devoted mum, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother to her beloved family and will be sadly missed by all.
