Data collected over three years has been used to measure the wellbeing of more than 300,000 people across the UK by the ONS.

In West Lindsey 38.9 per cent of people rated their happiness as nine or 10 out of 10 which was the second
highest.

The only place to score higher was Mid Sussex.

West Lindsey District councillor for the Kelsey Ward ward, Lewis Strange, said he was thrilled with the data.

He said: “It’s the quality of life, that we have room to breathe.

“It’s a very happy place to live surrounded with some lovely people and beautiful
scenery.

“I’m absolutely thrilled to bits, it’s really cheered me
up.”

Coun Strange has lived in West Lindsey his entire life and said he particularly likes taking peaceful walks on the Lincolnshire Wolds.

“The peacefulness when I go for a walk is wonderful,” he said.
