HEAVY rain showers didn’t stop the music at Market Rasen RPC Band’s fete.

This was the first fete held by the band for more than 10 years and such was the success, it is hoped it will once again become an annual event.

The training band played outside to an appreciative audience, but the main band had to decamp to the band room when the rain came.

In between showers, visitors to the event enjoyed a range of traditional games outside as well as pony and trap rides.

More than £400 was raised on the day for band funds and grateful thanks go to everyone who supported the fete.

The band’s next performance will be on Saturday, August 6, at the Skegness illuminations switch-on, which this year is being performed by Britain’s Got Talent finalist Stavros Flatley.

The band will be playing from 4.45pm-5.30pm and 8.10pm-8.40pm on the stage near the Clock Tower.
