N & EP Greenwood in Market Rasen is taking part in Sight Care’s Community Opticians Week and will be hosting a community funday on Tuesday, July 28.
The team will be hosting an open day with many exciting competitions to take part in.
These will include a spy hunt for children and ‘guess how many specs in the jar’ with both giving competitors a chance to win a pair of sunspecs.
They will also be holding a no obligations tour and frame viewing, a free spectacle cleaning station and 10 per cent reduction in price for all sunspecs purchased from their sunspecs range on the day.
Additionally, if you book an eye test on the 28th July, £1 will be donated to the NSPCC.
Sight Care, a support network for independent opticians, is aiming to encourage people to visit their local optician and while they are in town – for their eye test or consultation - it is hoped they can be persuaded to spend their money in the local shops and businesses on their local high street.
Liz Greenwood, owner of N & EP Greenwood said: “There is a real drive at the moment to continue to turn around the fortunes of our precious high streets.
“The Government’s new Minister for High Streets, Marcus Jones, is encouraging groups of local businesses to apply for the Great British High Street Awards – to raise their local profile and put them firmly back on the retail map.
“N & EP Greenwood is part of Sight Care’s network of local opticians who work in the heart of many towns and villages in Britain.
“Like other community opticians, we are in a position to help draw more shoppers and money spenders back to the high street and into those shops and businesses.
“Independent opticians are an ideal resource to go to for advice and they are there to better understand individual lifestyles and make recommendations for family eye health. That is what Community Opticians’ Week is all about.”
As part of the celebrations, Sight Care is giving customers who book an eye test appointment at N & EP Greenwood or another participating independent optician during the month of July or August the chance to win a National Trust Family Membership for a year.
