A planning application for three homes behind a village pub has been given the green light by West Lindsey District Council’s planning committee.

Martin Merrigan applied to the council for permission to build three affordable homes behind the Bottle and Glass pub in Normanby by Spital.

Many residents wrote to the council in favour of the application, saying the village would benefit from having more affordable homes.

One letter of support said: “I had to leave the village recently because of a lack of affordable houses either to buy or
rent.”

Another person said: “I believe the development would be good for the village.”

Councillors approved the application subject to conditions.

WLDC’s planning committee meeting was held in Guildhall, Gainsborough on November 18.
