A popular Caistor GP was remembered when Caistor First Responders presented a kneeler to the parish church.
Dr Geoff Wood arrived at Caistor Health centre in 1988.
He died in 2014 in a road accident, but one of the lasting legacies in the town to his memory has been the Caistor First Responders.
Chris Robey, Jo McCann and Laura Davey, of the First Responders, handed over the kneeler to the church in the presence of Dr Wood’s family, represented by his widow Elizabeth Wood, father Dr Tim Wood and sister Alison Wood.
“When the group was founded, people trusted it because Geoff was so involved and, in turn, they had faith in the rest of us,” said Mr Robey.
“This kneeler will be a constant reminder of him and a lasting tribute.”
Caistor First Responders meet on the second Monday of the month at Caistor Fire Station. The next meeting is on December 14 at 7pm.
