A Brigg rotarian has faced a hair-raising moment to raise money for charity.
Former Club President Martin Robinson raised £1,100 for Macmillan Cancer Support by having his head shaved as part of a district initiative, held at The Brackenborough Arms near Louth, to support the Brave the Shave initiative run by Macmillan.
The club’s annual fundraising has been the best ever during the year.
Charities supported include Brigg Carers Support Group, the Alzheimer’s Charity, the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance and Wish Upon a Star.
Retiring club president Nick Wells received the District Governors Citation for the club, in acknowledgement of the contribution made to the community in the past year.
The award was handed over by Past District Governor Mohammad Ali and the incoming president at Brigg Rotary Club is Ambrose Fowler.
The annual Sponsored Walk is scheduled for Sunday July 17, with sponsor forms available from the Brigg Tourist Information Centre.
