Well done to Young Farmers

YOUNG FARMERS – Congratulations went to members who had taken part in recent county competitions, when Wragby and District Young Farmers met at the Fire Station Conference Room on Millbrook Business Park.

Jack Forman presided and reports were given on the Wragby teams’ success in the 21 years and under Brainstrust competition, when they were placed second, and the 26 years and under debating team, who were placed third.

Member Alex Olivant was also placed a commendable third in the Member of the Year competition for 17–year–olds and under.

Provisional arrangements for attending the East Midlands area convention at Skegness were discussed and the club is hoping to arrange what has become an annual event in recent years, a Corn Shed Shuffle, in the summer.

An interesting visit had been made to the Poachers Brewery and there are many social events to look forward to, including a dinner and dance at the Franklin Hall, Spilsby, a St Patrick’s Night dinner dance being organised by Louth Young Farmers at the Kenwick Park Hotel and a casino night being organised by Coningsby YFC.

The venue for the County Spring Ball on April 7 is Digby Village Hall, with a Lincolnshire hog roast.

The next county competition is karting at Ancaster on March 17.
