North Lincolnshire Council is continuing to run reminiscence sessions for people with memory loss problems after the success of a pilot scheme.
There were positive responses from people who attended the initial 100 sessions, with 98 per cent saying they really enjoyed the session and 99 per cent saying they would like to attend future sessions.
Sessions have already been held at the Brigg Community Well-being Hub in Horstead Avenue and sessions are also being delivered at the Alzheimer’s Society Memory Cafe in Brigg.
Brigg families with adults with memory loss problems should contact those centres for more information.
At the reminiscence sessions, objects are used for older people, and particularly people with dementia, to spark past memories.
North Lincolnshire Museum Service has more than 20 themed reminiscence boxes - with topics such as toys, seaside and afternoon tea - all containing real objects suitable for handling to spark memories and conversation.
