“We have increased the number of runners this year to 500, so clean off those running shoes and boots,” said Llewellyn Gudgeon for organisers Brigg and District Royal British Legion Branch.
“We look forward to seeing old and new runners at this year’s event.”
Despite the increase in numbers for this year, it is expected the event will again be over subscribed, so advice is to enter early.
As in 2014, the event will mark the start of the Remembrance period and the Brigg Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal to which all proceeds from the run will go.
This will be the fifth year the event has been held. It started with one hundred competitors and that grew to 350 last year.
And once again part of the event will be the military challenge and participants will be in full uniform including boots and backpack.
Male competitors are required to carry a 36lb/16.3kg backpack, while female runners carry 24lb/10.9kgs.
The event will start and finish in the Angel Car Park with the 10k route as in past years extending out down Cadney Road and back again.
