Nostalgic look at Binbrook’s Belle

STEP back in time this Saturday to remember the Memphis Belle.

A whole hosts of activities will take place in and around Binbrook Village Hall from 1pm, including a showing of the 1990 movie Memphis Belle, filmed at Binbrook airfield.

Talks, skits, tours, displays, a Lightning simulator and cockpit, plus the jazz beans swing and jazz band will all feature during the day.

Adult entry to the hall is £2 on the door, free for under 16s.

Talks will be held in the upstairs room of the hall, with topics covering Life at Binbrook and RAF Air Traffic Control, Belle Film Survivor and a showing of the original Memphis Belle documentary film.

In the main hall, members of the Limelight Theatre will be presenting songs and skits of a bygone era and Jazz Beans will be playing, as well as providing a 40s dance workshop during their second set.

There will also be a range of static displays and the chance to take an hour-long tour of Ludford and Kelstern, where parts of the airfields will be open for viewing - cost £3.

Separate tickets are required for the film showing and buffet
